Color Fusers Blog Hop: March 2017

Welcome back to the Color Fusers Blog Hop!

This month we are showcasing Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder & Wild Wasabi.

I used the Custom Tee, coordinating T-shirt Builder framelits & Tie Dyed sets to create my card this month.

The sentiment is from Lift Me Up stamp set.  All items can be found in Stampin’ Up’s Occasions catalog, which is available until May 2017.

The card base is Mint Macaron cardstock, with Peekaboo Peach DSP and Wild Wasabi DSP cut out using the Sweetheart punch.

I even did fun thing with the DSP, highlighting the word love…

This card would be great for an anniversary or newlyweds.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: February 2017

Hello and welcome back to the Color Fusers blog hop!!

I have to say I had so much fun making my project for this month’s hop.  As you know, January through March are Sale-a-bration months with Stampin’ Up!  What is Sale-a-bration you ask?  It’s time to earn FREE products with every $50 purchase.  One of those products this year is the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  It is designed for coloring and is awesome to use with the Watercolor Pencils from the latest Occasions catalog.

I then used my Paper Snips to cut out the watercolored image. For the spots within the flowers I used a paper piercing pad and the edge of my snips to cut those sections out.

I then attached the cut out image to the card front using dimensionals.  If you’re like me and you save the trim, it makes for great smaller pieces that fit behind smaller paper cut outs.

Well, here is the final project —

I used calypso coral for the base of the flower, bermuda bay for the stems, early espresso for the flower center, and peekaboo peach for flower petals.

Here is the inside of the card —

Well, hope you enjoyed the tutorial and are now inspired to get going on your watercoloring!

Color Fusers Blog Hop: January 2017

Happy New Year!!

The color fusers blog hop is back!

Love this color combo.  To me it has an 80’s retro feel, so with this in mind I used the Custom Tee and Designer Tee stamps sets to display it, along with the T-Shirt Builder Framelits (available in the 2017 Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration catalog — available January 4th).

As we head into the new year, many of us have our new goals, resolutions, and plans.  Consider this card your inspiration and encouragement, that you CAN and WILL succeed this year.

Speaking of inspiration… check out the rest of the team’s awesome creations:

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 – Part 2

Here we are again!

September Color Fusers

To showcase this month’s beautiful array of colors I have used the Made with Love stamp set and the gift bag punch board.

img_6157-v3

I recently used the gift bag punch board for treat bags for my daughters’ birthday party, and it was so easy to use.  It inspired me to make these adorable baby shower treat bags.

img_6170-v3

The bags are crumb cake and cut at 10″ x 4″.  I used the Baby’s First Framelits Dies to cut out the onesie.

Next up, I created a card combining the Made with Love set and Baby’s First Framelits.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 – Part 1

Hello!  Welcome back to the awesome and amazing Color Fusers Blog Hop!!

September Color Fusers

This month we will be featuring Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry & Sweet Sugarplum.

**Be sure to check out links to the rest of the team’s amazing creations at end of this post!!**

To showcase this charming collection of colors, I will be using the  Jar of Love photopolymer bundle.  I had so much fun making my cards!

IMG_6118 v3

Perhaps slightly influenced by celebrating my 9th wedding anniversary over the weekend, I had love on the mind…

The first card features the shaker card technique.  I used the confetti hearts punch to fill my jar with hearts and the fine tip glue pen to adhere the overflowing hearts on the outside of the jar.  The jar cap was created using the embossing technique with copper embossing powder.  Here is a closer look at the card –

IMG_6112 v3

The second card continues with the love theme.  However, I filled the jar, which was stamped using the rich razzleberry ombre stamp pad, with hearts using the Everyday Jars framelits from the bundle.  The cover features the reverse embossing technique, using the white embossing powder and flirty flamingo applied with the sponge brayer.

I hope my creations have filled your day with some heart-filled joy.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: August 2016 – Part 2

The Color Fuse team is back!!
August Color Fusers
The first and third Monday of every month we will be demonstrating color combinations.
This month the colors are Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate & Watermelon Wonder.
To showcase these colors I have used the Hearts & Stars Decorative Mask.  Such a fun tool to use and play with color combos.
IMG_5533 v3
I added a cute little owl, made using the Playful Pals stamp set and Pyramid Pals thinlits. The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  The heart was created using the sweetheart punch, and the sentiment frame in cherry cobbler was made using the triple banner punch.

It’d be a great card to give for an anniversary, or just for fun as a loving reminder….
One quick tip I learned while creating this card…
Decorative Mask Tip
Do not twist the sponge dauber while applying ink because the ink will leak under the mask.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: August 2016 – Part 1

August Color Fusers

We’re back for our second month of Color Fusers Blog Hop!

Every first and third Monday of the month this group of talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will create projects using carefully selected color combinations.

As seen above, this month’s color combination is Cherry Cobbler – Smoky Slate – Watermelon Wonder.

I created a card using the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and coordinating Bloomin’ Heart thinlit because Cherry Cobbler gives projects a touch of elegance that is definitely present in the Bloomin’ Love and Hearts suite of products.

IMG_5142 v3

I decided to use the frame of the heart created by the thinlit instead of the detailed heart itself.  The heart image from the stamp set fits nicely inside the frame, and I like the contrast of the warm Cherry Cobbler compared to the cool tones of Smoky Slate.

IMG_5146 v3

I used dimensionals on the heart image and the sentiment because — well, I just love dimensionals!!  I think I use them in almost every project I do.

The card base is Watermelon Wonder, and I coordinated some Smoky Slate ribbon, for added embellishment.

Here is a good view of the products used in the project.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: July 2016 – Part II

Color Fusers logo

We’re back!!

Well, it’s the third Monday of July and the Color Fusers Blog Hop is back with more exciting creations using Cucumber Crush, Flirty Flamingo, & Peekabo Peach.

IMG_5047 v2

I started with the whisper white thick cardstock (cut at 4.25″ x 11″ & folded in half)

I added a piece of the 2016-2018 In Colors DSP in peekaboo peach (cut at 1.5″ x 5.5″).  Then I used half of a cucumber crush doilie and wrapped the front of the card with coordinating cucumber crush mini striped ribbon.

IMG_5045 v2

I used flirty flamingo for the sentiment which is from the Layering Love stamp set.  I framed the sentiment (cut at 2.25″ x 3″) in flirty flamingo cardstock (cut at 2.375″ x 5.125″) and also added another piece of the 2016-2018 In Colors DSP (cut at 2.375″ x 5.125″).  At the bottom of the card I added three little hearts – tying into the phrase – using the 2016-2018 enamel shapes in flirty flamingo.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: July 2016 – Part 1

blog hop july

I am so honored to be part of this amazingly talented group of stamping artists!

Eight of us have gathered together to share with you projects using the above colors – cucumber crush – flirty flamingo – peekaboo peach.

This may be your first stop or perhaps you’ve arrived here from another blog.  See full list of participants at the bottom of this post.

IMG_4093 v3

I used the Pop of Paradise and Thoughtful Banners stamp sets to create this bright and cheery birthday card.

The flamingo is, well, in flirty flamingo, with coordinating ruched ribbon.  I used the ’16-’18 In Color designer series paper for the polka dot peekaboo peach cardstock, and plain cardstock for the cucumber crush.  The card base is the thick white cardstock.

IMG_4085 v3

The flamingo was adhered with dimensionals – my FAVORITE embellishment!!
