My littles are still in the learning-to-read phase and often need some guidance to help them focus. One of their teachers suggested using a guide, of which she gave one of the girls a cut out of colored clear plastic. Well, her twin sister wanted one too, so I decided to get crafty and make them their own personalized reading guides.
Super simple to make. The window sheet is 2 x 7 inches, and the framed paper — Affectionately Yours DSP — has an opening about a 1/4 to 1/8 inch smaller so you have room underneath to adhere the window sheet to the framed paper. I added the 5/8″ mini striped ribbon and their initials. They can be used as bookmarks too!
Have a great day!!
Who doesn’t love a little copper embossing? I know lots of people that were so excited to see the copper embossing powder come back to the Stampin’ Up catalog.
I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set, which is just so elegant, and added a piece of the Affectionately Yours DSP that also has copper in it.
I colored in the flower image with old olive and calypso coral. The sentiments come from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. Here is a closer look.
Have a fabulous day!!
Made some cute little baby cards with the Made With Love stamp set and the Affectionately Yours DSP.
I think those little characters are such little cuties.
And here is part II of the teacher gift series–
Using the Project Life 6×8 kraft cover and variety pack of the 6×8 pocket pages, I created a scrapbook for each of the girls’ teacher. I decorated the cover with Affectionately Yours DSP, and the ’15-’17 In Colors ribbon from last year’s catalog.
I had each student submit a picture of themselves and write the teacher a note. I then embellished the pages with coordinating themes. Above are some of my favorite embellishments. The chalkboard tray was created using the Hearth and Home thinlit. The butterfly was created using the Butterflies thinlit dies.
This was my first time using the Project Life albums and they’re really easy to use. While I did not use the coordinating paper packs for this project, I would definitely recommend this for those who would like to try scrapbooking but feel overwhelmed by the embellishment process. The whole point of Project Life is quick and easy!
Thank you for stopping by!
I think the butterflies from the butterflies thinlits are just beautiful. The detail is so delicate.
And, doesn’t it look beautiful combined with the Affectionately Yours DSP?
Made these thank you cards using the five non-neutral colors present in Affectionately Yours DSP. The colors are Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight & Mint Macaron.
Thank you for stopping by!
Below is a list of supplies, excluding the Affectionately Yours DSP, as this is not available until June 1st when the new catalog goes live.
So, of course I had to place a second preorder of new catalog products….
One of the new items I got was the Affectionately Yours DSP, which goes very nicely with the new 2016-2018 In Colors!
I also found the little flower from the Bloomin’ Love photopolymer stamp set matched the flower in the DSP almost exactly.
With the end of the school year just a little over a week away I need to keep at it with my thank you notes. I think these will work perfectly.
Stay tuned for more sneak peek posts in the next few days, as I get more time to play with my goodies!
